The Boston Celtics took a 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Sunday night with a 105-98 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Luka Dončić paced the Mavericks with 26 points, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Celtics' strong defense.
The Celtics got off to a hot start, taking a 10-point lead in the first quarter. The Mavericks fought back to tie the game in the second quarter, but the Celtics regained the lead in the third quarter and never looked back.
The Celtics' defense was suffocating in the fourth quarter, holding the Mavericks to just 14 points. The Celtics also hit some big shots down the stretch to seal the win.
The series now shifts to Dallas for Games 3 and 4. The Mavericks will need to win at least one game in Dallas to keep their title hopes alive.
